The Benefits of Summer Reading Camp
Summer is a time for relaxation, but for many students and especially those with learning disabilities, it’s also an opportunity to strengthen essential skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
Without structured learning, many students experience the “summer slide,” losing progress made during the school year. For children with dyslexia and other learning challenges, this gap can be even more significant. Summer reading camps provide targeted instruction in a low-pressure setting, helping students reinforce their literacy skills while building confidence and independence.
This year we are running our summer camps for 3 weeks to accommodate families coming and going for their holidays. By maintaining learning momentum over the summer, students return to school in the fall feeling prepared and empowered. More importantly, they develop a love for learning in an environment that celebrates their strengths.
In the mornings, our Literacy Camps will take kids on an exciting trip that will include a safari, a trip to the ice covered north, and to the rainforest! Through engaging reading activities, stories, crafts, games, and themed snacks, campers will explore different areas of our world and the animals who live there.
In the afternoons, our STEM camp will spark curiosity with hands-on science and math activities, experiments, and explorations. Click on the posters above to access registration details!
